Glutamine

Glutamine is the most abundant amino acid found in the human body.

61% if not more, of the amino acids found in muscle tissue is glutamine.  It is during intense training sessions and stress, that glutamine levels are rapidly depleted in the body. It has been shown that it can take up to six days for Glutamine levels to return to normal after only one intense exercise session. Since glutamine plays a key role in protein synthesis (muscle-growth), depletion can cause a breakdown of muscle tissue, in turn lead to decreases in strength, stamina and recovery.
